Pastor Waymon & First Lady Brenda Stewart
Lead Pastor & First Lady
Pastor Waymon Stewart is a devoted servant leader whose life has been marked by faith, service, and a deep commitment to helping others. As an Ordained Elder in the Church of God in Christ, he has faithfully served at Whitehouse Church of God in Christ for many years — including more than 10 years as Assistant Pastor and 4 years as Pastor. His ministry experience also includes serving as a Sunday School teacher, Chairman of the Trustee Board for 15 years, and instructor at the C.H. Mason Bible Institute.
Beyond the church, Pastor Stewart brings over 40 years of leadership experience in behavioral health and community services, having served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief of Operations at the Andrews Center. He is also a proud United States Army Veteran, serving on active duty from 1975 to 1979 and in the U.S. Army Reserves through 2007, including a full-time deployment from 2005 to 2006. His heart for community is further reflected in over 15 years on the Whitehouse School Board — including two terms as President — and leadership roles with NAMI Tyler, the Smith County Behavioral Health Leadership Team, and other local organizations.
First Lady Brenda Stewart serves faithfully alongside Pastor Stewart with grace, strength, and a heart for God's people. Her warmth, encouragement, and deep commitment to the work of the Lord make her a blessing to the entire church family and community. Her life reflects what it looks like to serve with love, humility, and dedication to God.
Pastor and First Lady Stewart have been married for over 50 years and are blessed with three children and five grandchildren. Together, they are committed to seeing lives changed, families strengthened, and Whitehouse Church of God in Christ remain a pillar in this community for generations to come.
